Vaux-le-Vicomte è un castello situato a circa 6 km a est di Melun e a 55 km a sud-est di Parigi, nel dipartimento francese di Senna e Marna, nella regione dell'Île-de-France.. Fu edificato tra il 1656 e il 1661 per volere di Nicolas Fouquet, sovrintendente alle finanze di Luigi XIV: l'architetto fu Louis Le Vau, mentre degli affreschi e delle decorazioni interne si occupò Charles Le Brun.
